: By now you have seen my casting notices. Maybe you have auditioned for some of my work. Maybe I have had the privilege of working with you in one of my short films or live stage shows. Maybe all of these things are true. After-all, I have been auditioning consistently prior to 1996. I say ‘prior’ as opposed to pinpointing an exact date because 1996 was my first big live production. This one wasn’t multi-media because multi -media didn’t exist at the time. What I presented to an unexpecting audience was a unique foundation that would illuminate actors for the next 30 years. As the shows increased in numbers, the more creative they became. When film cameras became available to regular everyday people like me, I turned my shows into multi-media extravaganzas. Everyone from Sony, BET, Warner Brothers, Universal and many other powerful Hollywood institutions have been in our audience choosing actors for work. It’s been a ride. Just the other day I was talking to colleague explaining how  I can’t turn on a TV or browse through NETFLIX without seeing energy that passed through me and interpreted my writing in performance: Academy Award Nominees, leads of popular TV shows, tv show regulars, movie leads, commercial stars, TIK TOK juggernauts and so many more have passed through my written word. However, ‘passing through me’ and creating a superstar are two different things.

I WANT TO WORK WITH AN ACTOR AND CREATE SOMETHING SPECIAL

-By Ross

Introduction: By now you have seen my casting notices. Maybe you have auditioned for some of my work. Maybe I have had the privilege of working with you in one of my short films or live stage shows. Maybe all of these things are true. Afterall, I have been auditioning consistently prior to 1996.

Pitch: I am looking to work side by side with an actor who possesses talent, charisma and charm. An actor with stardust:  that indescribable glow that separates a future superstar from the cattle call of actors searching for fame. I want to turn those qualities into cinema magic. My focal point is to attack the art of Limited Series in a way that has never been done before. I will not post my ultimate plan here but know I need a future superstar to front my vision. I want to bring the artistic voice of an actor to the forefront. I have been told I am a master in the storytelling of plots racked with twists and turns. The Limited Series platform is a perfect place where these types of stories thrive. I have a keen vision on how I want to attack this platform using an actor as a shining weapon.  A cool part of the overall vision is that I am not in hurry or desperate. I have patience and the wherewithal to really push a vision forward. I have access to funding and connections in the business. I also have clear ideas on how to illuminate an actor in an elevated and sophisticated way. That’s what actors want to hear of course but the truth is, my biggest assets in creating a star are as follows -

Time: I usually clear my schedule from March through November every year just to create. Not too many people can do that without struggle. Imagine someone having a clear schedule to just create and build a wall of Hollywood around you? Someone who has nothing but time to bring your voice through the front with their writing and vision.

Creativity: When I am inspired my creativity is off the charts. I thought I found the perfect actor in the summer of 2024. We didn’t work out but for me, after auditioning over 300 thousand actors, there was something unique and superstar-ish about him. I can’t explain why. It was that stardust I mentioned. If any visionary from Spielberg to Christopher Nolan knew the ingredients to stardust or what makes a human possess it, there would be millions of stars floating in Hollywood. However no one knows. Stardust is unexplainable. As much as it is unexplainable, it is also rare. That’s what makes the element of stardust sit on top of certain talents in vivid fashion. When I am around that energy, my creativeness is on another planet. In world sitting in Kryptonite, the actor becomes my yellow sun which makes me indestructible in my energy to create.

Why:  Why am I obsessed with this idea? When I was a kid, I would ditch school and spend my days catching the bus from The South Bay to Hollywood and Back again in order to kill time. I would also go to Universal Studios often, walking through the guard gate as if I worked there. While doing all of this, I would take my allowance and purchase celeb autobiographies. I was fascinated by the stories of real life celebrities and their process on the road to fame. It was a different era and a lot of actors ended up on studio contract. The one thing most dreamers had in common was a visionary behind them making deals, envisioning the perfect projects and closing contracts over lunch. It was a fascinating era and as a result, most talent from that time are now considered icons today. One biography that stood out in a phenomenal way for me was that of Motown founder Berry Gordy. He borrowed $800 from his family fund to fund his vision. It was his family’s belief in him that led to Berry Gordy creating an iconic record and production company called MOTOWN. Even just as Iconic as the company name is the number of ‘stardust’ legends to come from that ‘$800 dollar’ dream: Michael Jackson, The Jackson 5, Gladys Knight, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Rick James, Lionel Richie, The Four Tops and many more. These are not just stars ladies and gentlemen, these are icons and legends who some sixty years after Gordy asked his family for that loan are continuing to sell out arenas across the world. And I said to myself...I want that kind of legacy.  I want to create stars that last forever. I WANT TO BE LIKE THAT!

In this era, that type of ‘guiding the star to the top’ is all but a bygone part of Hollywood. Success these days are defined by likes and followers. Actors and talent are more disposal than ever at this time in the world.  This is the era where Taylor Swift is the biggest female singing star in the world (no shade intended just an example). Most of these instant fame heads sparkle bright and disappear just as vividly. One team in this era took a page out of the old school playbook. That team was Ryan Coogler and Michael B Jordan. The two did something that most actors are afraid to do this era: meet and have a conversation. They met up at my childhood and lifelong stomping grounds which is Starbucks at Universal Studios (the Heavens love poking me lol) . By the time they left the meeting, Ryan knew that Michael was his muse and Michael understood that Ryan was going to be his mentor. For the next 12 years with loyalty in their hearts, the two created a trail of positive Hollywood damage that generated over 4 billion in revenue, created jobs for thousands and scored Oscar nods and star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame in the process. After 12 years, the power in their duo is increasing as proven by the one-of-a-kind massive success of Sinners. They took a chance on a lunch meeting at Starbucks and they changed the world in the aftermath.  Actors don’t really understand or want to have conversations these days. If it isn’t instant fire, they shun it. I recently saw an actor who possessed some static electricity in their submission. We emailed a few times back and forth and when I suggested a meet up for lunch, communication stopped.  What would have happened had Michael B turned down an unknown Ryan Coogler for lunch? No 4 Billion Dollar trail. That’s this era...

In Closing: This is the basis of my pitch. I don’t want to bore you here. Vision is broad and unique. In a situation such as actor/duo, it adjusts depending on the talent you have before you.  If you are interested in being reviewed for the idea, feel free to email your reels or acting clips (along with a photo) to eternalvideo@yahoo.com  and in the heading put actor/director review. Also put your Hollywood goals and what you feel are your acting strengths. Again, I won’t know what clicks until the destiny shows its face.
